Edit:yes i do agree that many comic book heroes or anime characters fit that but i would argue most of them are not self made and for example in case of batman it has negative implications as he rarely takes care of his enheritance.

Edit: the people who would stop at a billion dollar would have stopped many hundred million dollars before and that are the smart ones enjoying life and granting their children the possibility to grow up more or less normal.
