As a Veteran with flat feet, that was the easiest 50% the VA has ever added on to the rest of my disability percentage.

Had a roommate with feet so flat that if he angled his feet just right they would suction cup to hard floors, making a fart noise as he pressed his foot down, then a pop noise as he picked his foot up. He would walk around and do that at random times with his feet going *pft pop pft pop pft pop pft pop*
It was like having Squidward walking around.

Im 20 and have flat feet all my life. But I realised people with flat feet really depend on their heels, flat arch, and big toe to stand up or walk. So i tried standing using my heels and all metatarsals (if you rub your feet you can feel those are where the toe bones start) and my feet doesn't hurt anymore. I can now stand, walk, and run without my feet hurting every 5 minutes.

I’ve got pretty flat feet and grew up in the 80s & 90s. Doctors told me I’d never play sports and run like normal kids…ONE orthopedic surgeon told me I could do anything if it doesn’t cause pain and thanks to him I not only played but thrived!

Almost every Polynesian I know has flat feet and can run like the wind so flat feet aren’t necessarily bad.

As someone with flat feet, I went through a lot of grief finding shoes that didn't make my feet hurt because I was always told that I needed arch support. But it was that very arch support that would cause me more pain than just being barefoot. I have since learned that what naturally flat feet need are lots of cushion in the ankle, a wide toe box, and a shoe shape that assists on moving your foot from heel to know (sometimes called a rocker shape loke a rocking chair.) My feet feel a lot better now and like he said in the video, I have actually developed a little bit or arch in my foot!

I have flat feet. When I was a child a doctor told me and my mom that if my flat feet were untreated I would not be able to walk by the time I was 40. I therefor had to where a series of hard plastic braces, one for the heal that made no sense at all, then eventually hard plastic braces for soles of my shoes. I wound up snapping one in half, 1/4 inch plastic arch, just by normal use. All these "treatments" did nothing but waste money. I stopped going to the doctor for my flat feet as a pre teen and now I'm close to 60 and have no issues what so ever. I try to run 2 k 5 times a week, and go on 3, 4, 5 miles walks after that with no issues, and im about 6 feet tall and over 200 lbs. In my 40s I would 20 to 30 700lbs leg presses on a machine, much safer than squats, with no issues at all. I have learned not to trust doctors, this has not been the first time that they told me something that was not correct. But imagine telling a child that he would not be able to walk by the time he was 40 years old simply because he had flat feet, frigin unreal.

I just watched a video of African tribes a couple years ago and realized they all have flat feet and look at them walking thru the forests and jumping high as hell and running far af with no issues, they are proof of what the human body is truly capable of
