GED Math Test 2014 - Points on a Line Tutorial

Показать описание
You can get our 75 question GED exam with videos of all the solutions:
A math tutorial on how to check to see if points are on a line.
The equation of the line is:
3 * y + 9 = 6 * x
The problem gives several pairs of points and you have to determine if any of those pairs are on the line.
You've got to try each pair of x and y points to see if it works with the line equation. Both the left and right side have to match up.
For example, with the point (0, -9) we get:
3 * (-9) + 9 = 0
-18 = 0
That doesn't work so (0, -9) isn't on the line.
The point (1, -1) is on the line because the formula with that point yields 6 = 6 and that's true.
