This viral overeating advice video has been seen by 8.1 million people…

But is it actually good advice to stop overeating and lose weight??

In the original viral video, the creator goes through a list of reasons why you might not be losing weight…

And most of the changes she suggests are based on small tweaks to your diet to prevent overeating.

Some of these tips are ESSENTIAL to understand if you struggle with overeating and you’re trying to lose weight…

While others are a bit controversial 👀

Here’s what I cover in this video…

✅ Do you need to worry about the calories in “zero calorie” sweeteners and oil spray?

✅ Can you overeat starchy veggies?

✅ What’s ACTUALLY important for losing your FIRST 10 lbs. vs. your LAST 10 lbs. (spoiler alert: my advice is DIFFERENT depending on where you are in your fat loss journey).

Note: the TikTok I’m reacting to in this video comes from @jamiemiichele

Agree. First, I'm dieting now and though I do track my condiments, ei Ketchup, Whip Cream, wtv., I am not counting _"No Calorie Cooking Spray"_ even though I know I'm adding an extra 10 calories to a pan I am making 3 eggs on (though I may only ingest 3.9 calories of said 10 in one instance and 6.7 the next). It just isn't worth the space that would take up in my head. Just like my coffee. I *KNOW* a "cap" full of half and half has 5 calories in it (1/4 of a table spoon) and a cap full of light cream has 10 which I do actually track. I am not tracking a teaspoon of Splenda or Stevia though. Basically anything under 5 calories simply is not worth it imo, and anything under 20 if you aren't sure how much of that substance you are getting is not going to make or break anything. 5 small handfuls of chocolate chips (14 individual chips) could cause a problem though, as that's 250 calories which is quite a bit on a diet. I'm not saying that it's the end of the world, but I would rather have a half cup of vanilla ice cream with 14 chocolate chips mixed in and a quick 3 second swirl of some generic light whipped cream to get those 250 calories. Basically picking away at food can bury your diet and leave you completely befuddled as to why you are not losing weight, or even worse, keeping it on.

I prefer to set a calorie limit per day, regardless of activities I am doing that day. I burned roughly 3500 calories today, but my calories were set for 2200, so I'm staying under that number regardless. I up my calories to 3K on the weekends, which could put me 300 or so over if I have a really lazy day, and I will take that into account, but if I still have 3K, no biggie, and it won't be from 3 handfuls of Doritos while I'm browning hamburg and putting away dishes in the kitchen. Plus, it's easy to just count having X servings of chips and making sure you still have your dark greens and bright colored veggies along with wtv your protein macros happen to be. Don't not count real food though, idc if it's Kale or Potatoes, and no, I am not at 14% bf trying to get to 10. I'm more like 25 trying to get to 15, I'd just rather do it in a few months as opposed to a year so keeping track of things that aren't stated as zero calories is a big part of it.

Another bog part is not worrying when the scale goes up 5lbs after eating 2K calories the previous day, 1500 of which was Chinese food at 7PM. Maybe you drank less tea/coffee. You are almost definitely retaining a ton of fluid from the sodium and the food in general, so give it a day or two and you should see a big drop off. Point being, never let a big fluctuation over a day or two get to you, and if the scale is stuck for a week, again, if you are sticking to a deficit, the scale is going to drop. Sometimes the body just likes to hold fluid hostage and store some extra waste to be a bugger. I've seen so many people fall off after doing great, erasing a months worth of work in 3 or 4 days because they thought their _"Body is just broken, what's the point."_ It's not, don't stress, it does come off, and when you get stuck or see an inexplicable rise, it typically comes off in one or two large chunks that make you want to go *_"Hi Five"_* the neighbors.

Lol, you gotta admit, even though I will be the first to say _"Yes you track your darn broccoli silly, "_ the vast majority of us are not being held back by carrot stick picking. Chocolate chips or nuts? Doritos or the last 5 bites of the kid's mac and cheese though? Yep, those can get ya.

Good luck, stay healthy, have fun, and only judge yourself against you. These bloody social media filters fo set an impossible standard for most. Men and women. That 5'5" 115lbs 34/20/36 chick often forgets to mention she had two ribs removed and a BBL before putting a filter on her face and having a pro touch it up afterwards. You vs. you, the rest is just background noise.
