Debt free living is the best! I'm 55 and have ZERO debt...it's a good feeling. We own our home, have no credit card balance, no phone payments on shiny new phones, no satellite dish fees, no car payment!

I’m almost debt free except for the house, but my mortgage is 1/4 what local rents are. 6 months and I’ll have just the mortgage!!!

Luckily I refinanced my mortgage in 2020 and locked in at 2.99% not going anywhere w these interest rates at 6.5 - 7 %
Finally debt free as of January 2023. Paid off all my CC’s and cut them all up except 2 cards. Raised my FICO over 100 points to currently 821. Retiring in 5 years at 64 1/2.

Hi Tim, Just a tip... Don't trust the oil change life light. Change it every 5, 000 miles... Oil is cheap...Engines are NOT.

I've been debit free all my life, I was generating my own electricity to avoid power bills at the end of the month, in my early 40s. Didn't get a charge card till now at 66 years old. Just in case i need to rent a car or hotel room.

We are debt free and retired too! We always quote Dave Ramsey that said " If you will live like no one else, later you can live like no one else"

Listening to Dave Ramsey radio shows helped me pay off 6 maxed out Visa bills after I retired at 62. So nice now being debt-free. 😅

one strange thing that happened when I got out of debt and realized I was free from the slavery of money I almost needed counseling, money lost its meaning, like an alcoholic that quit drinking.

Never refinance, ask for a rate modification. If they turn you down, hang up. I did this once. I asked for a rate modification at a lower rate, they said no. I hung up. They called me the next day. No extras charges. When you do a refinance you incure extras charges up to $2000 or more, on a rate modification all you do is change the rate which is what you want. I did this a long time ago

I thought u said in a previous video that u took out a federal loan during Covid and the payment was $300 per month & you said it was for 30 years (and u’d never get it paid off)? Not sure what ur interest rate is, but that would have to be a loan over $100k.

I live in Florida and just stopped the home search after I started looking into the Property insurance tax doubling, tripling and many dropped because of the homeowners insurance crisis here in Florida. I have heard increases from family and friends from $400-1200.00 a month. It’s absolutely insane .
I’m renting.

Good to hear you pointing out that we have to be debt free! This society instills to buy buy buy no matter what. We need to break that cycle, don't be normal! It is very difficult for younger generations to break that cycle. I am working hard to be debt free. It is hard with a single income too but it can be done. I am paying off my car next week. I cant wait! Then with that payment I am adding it to my house principal and I should be able to pay it off by the middle of 2025 or earlier. It is not easy, we have to be dedicated and focus in that. it is very easy to derail... Thanks for the video Mr. Tim.

Yup, it feels great, house paid for, monthly bills paid as soon as they post. FICO 830 if I ever need it.

Yes you are right. Debt free or as low on debt as one can possibly go. That is a goal for me very soon.
