How to Change Thumbstick on PS5 Controller (Fix Peeling)

Do you want to know how to change or replace the thumbstick on your PS5 controller? This will allow you to fix the peeling or broken thumbstick. Take apart your ps5 controller and take off the old thumbstick and then place the new thumbsticks on. You can buy new ones off of Amazon or Ebay. You can get thumbsticks of different heights and sizes. I'd suggest getting kontrol freeks and placing them over your thumbsticks to prevent further damage.

whats crazy is they could have easily designed the cap to just be screwed on and off and replaced in seconds.

It's almost impossible to be less handy than me, but with this video I quite easily replaced the thumbstick. Thanks! The only hard part not mentioned in the video is removing the front panel on the upper side, near the triggers. I had to use more force than what felt good. Otherwise, super helpful!

Beyond amazing demonstrating and explanation. I am not one to take apart things but this was so easy to follow and complete. Not many tools to use either. A pair of tweezers will definitely help with the ribbons and just something to pull out the triggers. Pulled the casing apart with just my hands. 10/10 for this guy right here ‼️

This is ridiculously harder than with Ps4 controller. Sony just makes sure that players will buy new controllers.

This is so needlessly complicated to replace a piece of plastic that can accidentally pop out of the controller. Great video, but Sony makes me hate them more and more every day.

Be very careful with the two small cables on the bottom side.
One of my sides actually took the white connector out, instead of just the ribbon. These pins are so tiny fragile you cannot reconnect it afterwards, they just break.

Great video. Came back to it when my controller didn't charge probably. It would go blue for a second when plugged in but turn off immediately, so i assumed something was wrong with the battery. Lo and behold, the battery plug wasn't fully connected. Now it works like a charm again
