I absolutely hate removing the plastic covers because it always feels like I'll break them. To avoid that I've been using the KontrolFreek Omni thumbsticks for quite some time and I'm pleased with them. They feel better and are more durable than the original sticks.

Thank you so much! I figured out how to pop off the parts to disassemble. I used one of my torque screwdrivers and carefully applied pressure by wedging. Your tutorial is so concise, focuses of details without being too unabridged and easy to follow! <3

Thanks for this guide, replacing the thumb stick on these controllers is so much easier than PS4 controllers. Took me forever to figure out how to get the little trigger springs back in on the PS4 controllers, glad you don’t have to mess with any of that on the Xbox ones. Thanks for the guide

The sticks just pop out of place once the plates are off? That's super easy! I modded my N64 controllers a while back by replacing the original sticks with Gamecube-style ones, and I had to undo extra screws and stuff.

Thankyou, but I suggest even getting a thin butter knife, or something similar, if the controller backpads seem to be a bit difficult to remove. I found that prying lightly as you go along and hold is useful; i snapped a single tooth on the right one, left was much cleaner.
