Great Way To Throw the Left Hook | Use A Feint

Now if you are a southpaw vs another southpaw, you throw the jab through the guard and then throw the hook to his back hand. If the southpaw is fighting a right hander, the southpaw throws the hook over the lead hand. Notice with the footwork, when you throw the jab, you take a step. When you throw the feint and take a step, but you don’t need to take a step when throwing the hook because you took a step when throwing the feint.

Tom then shows the trainer where to hold the mitts when working with a fighter on this combination. This is a great way to throw the left hook.

Feint with the same rhythm as you throw the punch ... that really jumped out at me. Gem!

Coach Y - This is a great move that also reminds us not to reach out when you are parrying the jab. Thank you all for your time.

Great Video.
What do you think of an smaller fighter by feinting the jab which the body leans to the left side (like one type of the Tyson Jab) and from that position with the weight on his left leg throws the hook ?

I love throwing a light jab (which is a feint because there is not a lot of power behind it), then use the force of the impact to bring the hand just a little back and then continue with a left hook. Not very powerful, but has some punch in it and it always catches people off guard

Perfect example of how Floyd Mayweather set this up was by landing his solar plexus jab consistently. Then he would feint the jab to the body but then would come upstairs with the lightning left hook. 👌💪

Wow, some troll bots with boob accounts here, yuk. Anyway, great video. I don't have a lot of experience but I'd love to see this work in a match. At my amateur level, I just imagine I'd get a jab to the mouth when I stop to throw the feint like that, guard down. But I dunno, might try it in sparring.

Another episode with Danny Bodish 😁😁😁 Let's go Coach Y. If Roy looks bad against Tyson, I'm hunting you down and unsubscribing 😁😁😁
