It's worth mentioning Joseph Williams came later, after Toto recorded Africa. He wasn't part of the band until the mid 80's the first time. He also sings more of the belting vocals, like on Africa's chorus, typically.

I was one of the managers for Toto back in 1994 and the lead singer of the bands. His name is Bobby Kimball it’s not Joe Williams he took over after Bobby left Bobby made that song the hit it was go listen to the original version.

Yeah, Luke said this in 1981-1982…. Bobby Kimball is the Original Lead Singer and Joseph Williams (still with the Band today) started back in 1986.

HOW could they possibly hate Africa?? It had such an impact on me as a kid and still does today. It's beautiful. That kinda bums me out.
