One time singer Edwin McCain was asked if he ever got tired of singing his massive 1999 hit "I'll Be". He said he could never understand singers who tired of performing the one song that probably kept them from becoming a pizza delivery person. He compared it to someone who wins the lottery, buys a big beautiful house, sticks the ticket on the wall and then walks past the ticket every day and says "stupid lottery ticket!". A lot of these performers have had very nice lives thanks to these songs. Be grateful for what you have

Billy Joel has said more recently he doesn’t hate “We didn’t start the fire” but that it’s just very hard to sing live because of how easy it is to screw up the lyrics due to this long lists of historical names and references you need to list off. He has however said he hates his song Piano Man because he has issue with the song structure though he sings it at every concert for the fans who love the song.

Britney Spears said she despised Outrageous, but was forced to have it on the album because her label would not let her keep Breathe On Me.

Britney Spears hates her song, “Sometimes”, she even admitted it while heading off backstage, not even realizing her mic was still on.

Vanessa Carlton cleared her song so these Jacksonville rappers could sample it to make a diss song dissing their dead enemies. she actually defended them. and she let them use it.

Amy Lee doesn't like the recording of My Immortal that was ultimately used on Fallen and released as the official single. She's said it was a 'demo' that was recorded 'late at night' when she wasn't at her best.
Haley Williams is kind of ashamed of Misery Business.

there's an old saying called: "Don't bite the hand that feeds you". I get it that some songs are so overplayed, that even the artists themselves find the song annoying after a while. these artists gotta learn some humility, cuz the very song they're avoiding is likely the same song that made them famous in the first place. At least some of them on this list do recognize the song's impact and perform it regardless of their personal opinions.

If Carlton hates her song, give that to Terry Crews

From a fan’s perspective, overall I can see how we would be confused as to why the artist seems to be ungrateful with their success of a song. But from an artist’s perspective I can imagine how being compared to one piece of art (song) for your whole life and you have other forms of art that are not being recognized can be a little hurtful. But I enjoy listening to a lot of the songs that are on the list. But again, I’m a fan, not an artist.

I remember how much Kurt Cobain absolutely despised smells like teen Spirit, me being 37 and all. It’s a great song, but it is heavily heavily overplayed. It’s like hearing enter Sandman by Metallica.

I know that Tina Turner does not think fondly of “What’s Love Got to Do With It”.

It's a good thing, especially in hindsight, Nirvana didn't include "Smells Like Teen Spirit" in their MTV Unplugged appearance. Seriously, thumbs up to Cobain for that. I've grown tired of that song ages ago. Just appreciating the rest of the band's other songs feels more refreshing by the year. "Breed, " anyone? Sure, it may be weird to some, but c'mon! Cobain was far greater than what "Teen Spirit" brought to the grunge movement.

One artist that should definitely be on here is Bobby McFerrin. I think i read somewhere that he hates his song "Don't Worry, Be Happy" so much that he gets physically ill when he has to perform it. Now THAT's hating a song. Also, the guitarist from Radiohead hated the song "Creep" so much he put that heavy riff in it, that comes right before the chorus deliberately to ruin the song, Ironically, it's probably the most defining part of the song.

It is said that Jonh Lennon hated two songs that he wrote:
It's only love from the album Help
Run for your life from the album Rubber Soul.
