I was on top of the gas hookup, so much so that I arranged it the day before closing, after which the previous owner called the company and canceled the service, not realizing that it was already under my name. Because she used an automated system, it somehow allowed her to close my account. I spent the first week of November in a house with no heat, and the gas company, in my first bill, tacked on an extra $50 because they had to send someone out to re-light the pilot (I later got them to refund that).

Since you said you aren't the type of neighbor that likes talking to other neighbors, how would you feel if a new neighbor came to introduce themselves to you?

I keep things short and simple especially for people that don't like talking to other people. I think it's important to know your neighbors. I'm looking for advice on how I would approach somebody with an opposite preference. We're about to move in two weeks.
