This video helped me. I had to download drivers for sound.

I have tried everything and I have no high definition audio device under sound settings. I get video through hdmi to my tv but no audio. Second video i have watched on this subject that was useless! Im about ready to reload windows completely!

Thanks for a video. Lost my sound all of a sudden today, no sound from computer to TV through HDMI chord, all of a sudden, all the sets looked correct, i tried different HDMI cable - i have picture but the sound is gone. That wasn't pretty at all on the first day off i got in 2 weeks. My problem was that somehow in the audio icon in Audio devices screen there were only speakers, but my TV option disappeared from there all of a sudden, just fell out from there, somehow I was able to get that option back and everything started to work. That was super annoying and I wouldn't wish my enemy this crappy experience !
