Sony Bravia Smart TV: How to Reset Audio/Sound Settings (Fix many Audio Issues)

I show you how to reset the audio / sound settings on a Sony Bravia smart tv. Maybe you have sound or audio problems like no sound but only picture, audio goes in and out, out of sync, audio sounds funny or muffled or echoing, or you just want to factory reset the audio / sound back to factory defaults for a clean slate, etc. This can also help if you have audio issues when watching apps like YouTube, HBO Max, Disney+, Youtube for Kids, ESPN, Fubo, Sling, Hulu, Starz, Amazon prime video, Netflix, Vudo etc. Hope this helps.

Appreciate your post, seems you’re the only one who has posted sound issues on the sony brand ABR85X900HK. I have the A80K bought in December of 2022 with Sony Soundbar HT-A5000 having similar problems. Use my headset plugged into the speaker input on the back of the TV. Once I used that, my sound only wanted to use the TV speakers. My Comcast TV remote and Sony remote that came with the TV sound bar stopped working. (It was like the eARC HDMI port shut off) Switch to Audio System and I could hear sound through the soundbar but the TV remote and Comcast remote stopped working while my sound was going through the Sony HT-A5000 soundbar. The bottom line is I now get the sound out of my Audio System, however, I always have to use my Sony remote to turn up or down the sound! I ordered the CEC-LESS HDMI plug. Once I get it do I plug it in the back of the TV eARC where my soundbar is being used or where my Comcast box is being used? Sony Sound system when working correctly, turning up or down the volume on Sony TV remote or Comcast remote I can see Audio System working. Now I see only the sound going up or down only the soundbar while using Sony Soundbar remote

so I picked up a new Sony receiver but each time I raise/lower the volume the tv volume display pops up. Plus it's not the same level as the receiver even though volume controls are done via the receiver. Is there a way to turn off that display?

Pandora sound was only problem. Unplugging power fixed it. “Duh”, I should have tried that! Thanks….

This doesn’t fix the MTS and Alternate audio greyed out blocked problem on the sounds settings have you gotten your tv to enable and high light these to options I’m trying to connect a sound bar to my TV

I have a echo studio but I also love the tv audio. I tried to run the echo through an optic audio cable to get both at the same time, but the echo studio is out of sync with the tv. Is there a way to make them both work in sync?

I called on sony customer care and he told me to switch off my TV and then switch it on .after that if I am standing facing TV then on left side of back of TV there are 4 buttons first one is for power rest 3 are other buttons press each button 10 times separately note you have to press each button 10 times except power button and problem had resolved. After that I reset my TV to factory settings it is optional. Hope it helps

Whenever I click ok on the reset option it just moves back to the left (back to reset) and doesn’t change anything, any help?
