Wilderness Off Grid Log Cabin: Bull Moose, Getting Ready For Winter, Cierras Injury Update

The whole family made the trek to the remote off grid log cabin to haul in a few things we will need for winter. I also show a bull moose that had a stare down with the log cabin. #offgrid #outdoors #homesteading

The best place to raise kids especially in the beginning is right where you are! Teaches them to think for themselves, build creativity and what it takes to take care of yourself in any situation!!
I loved my summers at my grandparents farm with no running water or electricity!

Love what you guys do out there. Ciera, I’m an Orthotist in Michigan and it would be a good idea to get a functional ACL knee brace to protect you knee from mishap until and after your surgery. Things can go horribly wrong if you over stress your knee.

Rehab after surgery is pretty intense, so being in the medical field, such a patient must have access to the rehab place for in-person (2-3x weekly!) and home visitation sessions. Not to mention post-surgical care. So your big cabin, with automobile access is the place to be.
Who takes care of the chickens and eggs, and the ducks when you're at the remote cabin?
The canvas looks great.
Guess you'll be able to sled in heavy stuff hauled behind a snow machine.

I love the little cabin in the woods. So peaceful out there. Cierra i hope you are healing well. Dont rush recovery. Im learning that lesson after a heart attack several weeks ago. Slowly Slowly is my new anthem. Stay safe and well.

Cool. Nice little cabin. I'd move that propane tank outdoors. Leaks do happen, safety first. Most off griders put them outdoors, opposite side where needed, stove, refrigerator ( yes there are propane ran refrigerators), etc., drill a hole, run the conduct, fill in gaps around the hole(s). I'd also plow a drive to your place, if you can walk it, you can drive it, think of the inevitable- someone gets sick, has a injury - storms etc., makes access easier in times of emergency.

Your setup is exactly what I am planning on doing: a nicer place close to civilization for family and a girlfriend, and a place farther out to enjoy that complete solitude. Congrats to you for making it happen, definitely a big inspiration for me!

Glad to see Cierra again and praying her surgery goes well🙏🏼. I’m glad you two are able to get out and enjoy the cabin again. We completely understand having two cabins! We are moving to our cabin in northern Wisconsin in a few months but are already dreaming about having a new cabin project further north into the woods!
Great plan for raising kids with limited electronics. Our daughter with 5 kids is raising her kids without any TV or electronics and it’s amazing how much they use their imagination and play outside. We recently cancelled our TV and don’t miss it a bit! We just watch great You Tube channels like you two!! God Bless❤️

Excellent idea with the ground beef, cream of chicken, etc. I’m definitely going to try it. Most of my ground beef meals are dry, I never thought of trying cream of chicken soup with it.
