Building an Off Grid Log Cabin Alone in the Wilderness, Ep17, Framing the Roof, Gable Ends

I install the last wall log on the back of the cabin and frame the gables with half-log posts and lumber before lifting the firs of three log purlins in place. Cali, my wife and I paddle a local river to cool off on a hot day, and I cook a few bear steaks on the campfire for lunches while working on the cabin.

Absolutely incredible Shawn, lets start there, hoisting those monster logs, by yourself, alone, in the middle of the wilderness, your engineering and building skill are second to none. It is absolutely impressive as always, what you have accomplished by yourself, talk about a man with a plan, you certainly had one, stayed focused, worked relentlessly, kept yourself safe the whole time and now you have something to be proud of in your family for the rest of your life and then some. Those Baby Birds 🐦 just sitting there waiting on mom to bring them a worm 🐛. The nest those Robins or any birds build is nothing short of amazing the craftsmanship they put into it. Almost like a human building a house, U gotta love ❤️ nature.

It’s been a while since I visited as I have not been well.the cabin has come along beautifully since I last saw it.It’s nice to see you have quality time with Cali too.I love her antics when you went out in the canoe and she got out for a swim.She gets so much joy from that doesn’t she.It’s also nice to see how nature has come back to life.The aerial views are amazing, everything looks so very fresh and new.I love the section in the river where the lilies are, this is so pretty.Thank you for showing the beauty of where you live, it always makes me a touch envious but at least I get to see places I cannot visit anymore and enjoy the wondrous scenery ..Love n Light to you both 🥰
