I like how many of these older sketches are just really transparent ploys by the writers to get lunch catered

"It's a little convenient."
"Convenient for what?"
"Exactly."

So in the end we learned: Anything with Gluten is a Sandwitch.

My sister has Celiac disease, on the one hand gluten-free food has become cheaper because of the amount of people eating it as a fad diet, on the other people occasionally poison her because they think she is also on a fad diet. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Having celiac disease, I can tell you that this is 120% true. I find it hilarious how perfectly they made this skit.

When you realize that if a pie is a sandwich, beer is a sandwich as well.

my favorite is seeing all the "gluten free" products that don't contain gluten to begin with.

The upside of the gluten craze is that people who are actually properly intolerant to it have a greater range of products to choose from in shops than ever before.

Being a person with allergies I can relate "Are you sure, one bite of the peanut butter bar won't kill you" "Actually it will cause It will make me go into anaphalatic shock and I'll choke on my own throat" "Oh well how about a hazelnut smoked steak" "You are a hazard to my health and everyone else who has allergies"

Me: Has a wheat allergy and can literally go into anaphylactic shock.

Other people: I think your making that up.

What about the clueless restaurant employee who makes a gluten free pizza on the same pan as the regular ones

"Did you just wake up one morning and decide you had it?"
"No, I went to the doctor and they did, like, extensive tests."

As someone who went through two blood tests and an endoscopy to determine I had Celiac Disease and still gets asked this all the time, I relate to this SO much

I've dealt with every single one of this people in the 15 years that have passed since I was diagnosed. Some people are really nice and they try to understand the condition and how it affects you if you eat gluten. Whereas others... oh my, I once had a baker tell me that I could probably use cake flour because it has a very low gluten content and a little wouldn't damage me. I explained to him that even the tiniest particle of gluten triggers an immune reaction on my intestines but still "oh but it's just a little". Another time when I was around 10 years old, it was Easter and everybody at home was eating chocolate eggs that contained gluten. I of course didn't have any of it, but I didn't mind, I didn't feel bad or left out (ok, maybe a little sad) and so my dad told me +"come on, have some, it's not gonna harm you" I replied -"don't worry dad it's okay and you know I can't eat this" +"it's just a little" -"I won't!" And so on, until I convinced him that I was okay with it. My own dad guys. I could write more about this but my comment would be endless. This is a very real disease that nowadays is luckily getting the awareness and respect it deserves. Just because you don't see the effects doesn't mean it isn't real or bad. I'm not sorry for the long comment. If you read up to this point, here, have some gf snacks 🍟🍿🍎🧀

I have celiac disease, and my favorite Comment I've gotten is "is it contagious?!" Just because the name has disease in it doesn't mean it's contagious >.>

This is sadly accurate. It sucks when people are clueless like this
