When groups stick together and have in-group preference, they succeed more than other groups. Nothing surprising

Wives in polygamous relationships used for cheap labour is so spot on.

Hats off to you mama for building your life with your kids again from zero. I can’t imagine the struggle. You’re doing an amazing job. ❤

I beg to differ on the Mormons outward appearance. They look very put together with a lot of makeup and looking perfect. I don’t ever see them look frumpy.

I’ve left when I was 15, now that I’m married and struggling with two young kids I’m so tempted to go back, just for the support, and community, and help! Please pray for me to resist the urges to go back! 😅

It's always crazy to me followers of many Christian denominations follow a bible that says it's easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than a rich person to get into heaven yet churches & followers in their own ways turn into some kind of prosperity gospel & hoard wealth...go figure

It is hard reflecting on this and the town Oscarville underneath Lake Lanier, and places like Tulsa. Thriving Black communities that were destroyed because they did not have the same privilege.

Thank you for sharing this informative video!! I'm impressed that the Mormon church has it's own social services. Honestly, I think a lot of churches, especially large churches, could do more to help members, when they fall on hard times. Collectively, these churches collect billions of dollars in revenues. 😮😮🤯🤯

I don't know if it is privilege: you just did things right, you put effort and see the results. I hope everyone of us can achieve that.

I feel as though so many trad wives live in such a different reality than most women do. I grew up in a small white New England town with less than 5000 people and I come from a lot of privilege and even with kids who came from well to do families BOTH parents still had to work. I don’t think I went to school with any kids whose mom stayed at home. A woman named the transformed wife is a housewife living in a very expensive home in a gated community in San Diego. She tells women to just downsize and be frugal but her and her husband certainly haven’t. It’s impossible for the average person in this economy to be a stay at home mom or even have the luxury of working part time. Also add in kids to that equation.

I grew in Arizona and Nevada. My neighbors were Mormon. My parents are immigrants and we didn’t know or understand Mormons. We even went to their church ⛪️. I did notice Bible study time they would grade us lol 😂my dad got a C…lol is that a thing?

My husband had land and other inheritance. That is so bizarre for me because my parents are immigrants. But I know to make sure to pass that on to our future children and set them up for success. Our children will have multiple houses and some land. That’s is my prayer and hopes.

I’m a Mormon (well exMormon now) housewife of 5 kids. I’m the great grand daughter of Joseph Fielding Smith, gg granddaughter of Joseph F Smith, and ggg granddaughter of Hyrum Smith.

My husband does well but not through connections as his family is poor and not well connected. But with his Mormon work ethic he earns $300k (which is NOTHING compared to ballerina farm types) and I live a privileged life.

I also have no power and I’m kind of stuck. Leaving has ostracized me from my family and former community.

My husband controls the finances.

My children all look like models and do all the extracurriculars.

I’m more like your standard Mormon woman. Blonde, beautiful, depressed. Not ultra wealthy but still better off financially than 90% of the world.

Where is the accountability for all these wealthy Mormons? I don't see it in this life.

Thank you for this very interesting testimony. 🙏 The uninformed general public has indeed a lot to learn from powerful communities and congregations. But also about the dark side of this power.

Thanks! I’m not connected to anyone other than my son. Because I haven’t met anyone else who is worthy of my energy.

One thing you didn’t mention is substance abuse. A big reason children and adults become DISADVANTAGED is due to drug & alcohol addiction within the family. It’s horribly destructive to both individuals and entire communities.

The strict Mormon avoidance of such substances has a LOT to do with it as well.

Community, helping each other, a hard work ethic, beautiful people; all of this sounds amazing. I'm sure there are some areas that could be fixed. But over all, this sounds like the human version of utopia.
