If I ever, Lord forbid, need spinal or neurological surgery I am coming your way. I live in the state right next to you and I would definitely make that trip. You’re awesome

This is so cool! What is the typical technique used for pediatric patients with scoliosis? My daughter is scheduled for surgery on February 3. Of course, everything will be discussed in an appointment about a month from now, but just thought it would be a fun question to ask! Love your content! ❤️ 👍🏼

I think God keeps sending you my way Miss Spine Doc. I’m 30 yrs old and have been diagnosed with spinal
Stenosis. My back pain literally started almost a month or two after having my son. 3 almost 4 years now. I had an epidural. With no previous issues of back pain my entire life. Now, I’m having the worst pain of my life that has progressively gotten worse. The pain is now going into my hip. Very painful to sit or drive. Would you happen to have any recommendations or advise on how I can get some relief? I hate living like this; I am desperate to get out of pain. I cannot do anything with my only son and it kills me everyday. Pleaseee, whatever you can inform me or help me with, I’ll appreciate. ❤🙏🏼

Can this be done on a 4 level cervical fusion? surgeons in my city want to do a second revision surgery going through my back and they tell me it will be a 4-6 month healing process. I am not prepared for being incapacitated to that degree for so long so I am holding off as long as possible. If your technique can be done on the cervical spine I will hop on the phone and book an appointment for a consult.

I had a fusion there using cadaver bone and no one can even find a scar now. Was done approx 15 yrs ago.

This is the surgery that I'm having at the end of October. I'm very active (skating, hiking, biking, wildlife photography, etc) and can't wait. From what I see the recovery time is much shorter and it's going to be done in an outpatient setting. It also eases my mind that you perform this surgery and have been for a while.

Dang. Wish that was an option for me. I was filleted like a fish. 😂

This is unrelated but there was some fuzz in the news about uk female surgeons undergoing harassment of the sexual nature and a senior anesthesiologist asking them to normalize it and ‘toughen up’ to not be a snowflake. Im sure you’ve had to deal with that mess in your training. Do you mind talking about it if you can?

Thank you for explaining that in such detail. Can I Revision be performed on a cervical fusion where cadaver bone was used instead of a flexible disc? Techniques seem to have come a lot since seven years ago. My neck was fused into place and now I have no range of motion flexing My neck Backwards.

Is this technique possible for anterior approaches? Currently work in the OR and have yet to see any laparoscopic neurosurgery, but we do a lot of spine in general.

I had a fusion in May of 2015. Then I had a revision of said lumbar fusion in December of 2015. 6 months apart. The surgery was nothing. I’ve had worse. Like 3 major surgeries in 2007. First I had my gallbladder removed laparoscopicly. Then I had open heart surgery, then I had stones in the common e bile duct. 3 times actually. My back surgeries were all open. I was left with a huge curve in my lower spine that is just my spine. Is that common and why was it left that way. I can’t lean back on a wooden chair. It hurts like anything. Why and what could be done about it? I need a walker now where as before I needed nothing. They want to do a third. It’s s much bigger of a surgery. They will be bolting into my hips or pelvis. I believe pelvic. My next move is an ablation. Im on narcotics that do nothing. I can’t be prescribed more because of what’s going on in the world. I get it. It’s a awful thing thing that they put everyone in the same box. I understand that doctors are scared but what about the patient? It’s almost like are causing the patient to doctor hop. I’ve only been to the one doctor since 2015. Or worse yet hit the streets. If you know what I mean. What is your opinion on me. I realize this is YouTube and you don’t know me. So this is just a conversation. I’m so scared to go for a third surgery. I’ll end up in a nursing facility not able to get up except for a wheelchair. Any advice would be so appreciated. I don’t k ow what to do or where to go. Im on Long Island. Im being treated for my back, surgeons and pain management in StonyBrook University Hospital. I have to start with a different surgeon. My surgeon who did the surgeries in 2015 left the practice and moved out of state. They gave me another surgeon. I saw him just for talks. Well he left now too. Do I need another doctor in the neurosurgery department. I don’t know any of them. HELP! Any words of wisdom that you could share with me would be greatly appreciated. 🫶🦩💚🐈‍⬛💕

Ahhh curiosity again. Is it true that lumbar fusion indirectly causes spinal degeneration as you age?

You really need to come to Syracuse and teach our docs a thing or two. Our opioid addiction is in the rise due to chronic pain. I have seen a lot of surgeries that have gone wrong or pts needing multiple surgeries. It’s pretty sad.
