"DISASTER STRIKES LONDON!":

Cities Skylines Industries:

In one of the most in-depth expansions in Cities: Skylines history, Industry becomes a larger and more meaningful part of the game with this expansion. Players can customize their industrial areas with supply chains for the four different resource types and unique factories. Well managed industry areas will level up and become more efficient. Aside from production chains, there is a new city service for handling mail and the cargo airport eases import and export of factory goods. There are FIVE new maps, new policies, new city services, new buildings (including resource extractors, manufacturers, warehouses and unique factories) and more.

Key Features:

- MAKE IT HAPPEN
Follow your products from harvesting to processing, storage and production, then transport them to commercial zones or export to other cities.

- CAPTAIN YOUR OWN INDUSTRIES
Define an area with the industry area tool and place highly specialized industrial buildings to build and manage the production chain from raw material extraction up to final end product. Industry Areas are divided into four types based on the natural resource they are processing: Farming, Forest, Ore and Oil. These areas can level up upon reaching productions goals and staffing requirements.

- BUILD IT UP, BUTTERCUP
New industrial buildings include Extractors, Warehouse Facilities, Processing and Auxiliary Buildings, Industrial Props and Roads. Unique Factories, such as Food, Toy, Furniture, Car and Electronics produce luxury products, and require a large number of workers, water and electricity as well as input from your industries.

- SHIP IT
Manage traffic and logistics with industrial warehouses and the use of the new Cargo Services including a cargo airport.
GO POSTAL
Boost your citizens’ well-being with mail delivery and collection services. Post sorting facilities handle mail between outside connections and the post offices, and new Post Van and Truck vehicles enable the carriage.

- WONK HARD
Three new Industry Policies and four City-wide Policies, including Workers’ Union, Sorting, Tolls, Wi-Fi, Logistics, Work Safety and Automation.

City: London.
Traffic Flow: 17%.

Checks out. The person who built this city clearly knows the source material.

Love how you are consistent with your main tips and you can clearly see the results!

1. Lane Mathematics - simple and highly impactful
2. Round-a-bouts - helps the flow
3. There is always time to relax and sip some tea!

There was a lot of "bigger roads don't necessarily help traffic flow" in today's lesson. If you didn't believe it, this would show you. 👍👍👍 Great vid, Biffa! Love the final cinematic.

Loving the before/after cinematic, so seamless, very nice touch!

There were so many lane management problems you didn't touch, no doubt because of wanting to fix as much as possible with the lightest touch. I can see why now, that flyover at the end was absolutely brilliant showing how little you changed and how much the traffic improved.

Tell people to stop using 6 lane one ways. They usually don't help at all but rather make everything worse, especially with roundabouts. They also make the city look quite bad, if they are spammed around for so many roads.

I'm watching the same thing happen over and over again, but it doesn't get boring...

I was driving home and yelled at someone to "quit chauka blockin and horky borky lane switching and go straight on through". He was trying to give me the old jiggery-pokery.. oh my goodness me!

Most European cities have junctions that are relatively close, but they still have smooth traffic. Here’s how:
1. Roundabouts: They help smooth traffic
2. Pedestrian roads(e.g promenades) and paths: Most cities have pedestrian dedicated roads(yes, the zonable ones you get from Network Extensions) and paths providing short routes to commercial/office zones.
3. Public Transportation: Public transportation is virtually everywhere in most cities in Europe. Whether it’s buses, metro, tram or commuter rail (trains in Cities: Skylines), there’s always at least one mode of public transportation
Limited Parking Spaces: This forces most citizens to rely on public transportation instead of cars, improving traffic flow.
However, this is a very brilliant fix, especially for American cities (they depend on private cars). If you’re working on a European city though, you’ll need to take public transportation as a big part of your traffic fix since European cities depend on public transportation instead of private cars.

I love how you've added cinematic looks of the before and after, sometimes I wish you would nuke *certain* areas of the city but I know you're just trying to help the people who built it to understand what went wrong!

Biffa, you are right! - The opposite sense of rotation or revolution is (in North American English) counterclockwise (CCW) or (in Commonwealth English) anticlockwise (ACW)

This before/after cinematic looks incredible. The good thing about the small cities is that small changes boost the traffic instantly. Metro is a must ALWAYS. Your tips about lane mathematics really do help Biffa, thanks a lot for this video.

That flyover comparison edit at the end is brilliant, Biffa.

This somehow popped up on my YouTube feed, and I'd actually quit playing this game because the traffic seemed impossible. You really did a good job of breaking down somewhat unintuitive traffic problems and fixes -- I immediately redownloaded the game on Steam and am excited to play again. Thanks for this content!

I really liked the before and after effect you did at the end. Shows what you changed and what the traffic was like before. Super neat. Also love the time lapse of busy interchanges. Relaxing to watch the cars.
