I bet the dog was off leash!!! Poor pup had to suffer because of the owners irresponsibility.

Nature still exists out there. One should ALWAYS have a snatchable-sized dog on a leash. This is sad. But yeah, the coyote is trying to survive.

Lovable little varmints. There used to be a bounty on them. Watch your pets and small children and keep your dog on a leash. It's a good idea to carry a walking stick or cane so you can fend them off. They are ambush predators. Keep your cell phone in your pocket and pay attention to your surroundings. I'm sorry you lost your dog in this manner. Vigilance is necessary.

Coyotes killed one of my cats two years ago. She's one of three that refused to come in that night. I found her the next day. The coyotes didn't eat her. Just killed her.

I have a six foot fenced area off my deck and the property has a five foot fence all the way around plus gates. Coyotes can easily jump both fences so if my animals (cats and small dogs) are out, usually so am I. Plus there are hawks and owls. I'd have no problem taking a coyote out.
