Loved how you stressed the point about being patient. Every time I have worked to reduce my body fat%, the scale didn't budge for 8-10 days before I saw an abrupt drop.

Here is what my real life application of this info looks like: I was 145kg at 178cm, adipositas 2 (morbidly obese), 38% percent body fat. I broke bad eating habits, cut out sugary drinks, drastically reduced candies and snacks(reduced, not cut out mind you), worked on my portion size and feeling of saturation, and started working out. But all those changes came in little increments, babysteps. No "dieting". 3 times a week I hit the gym, 2 cardio workouts, 1 lifting workout. This helped me loose 50kg (52kg atm), lower my body fat to 15% and I only lost 6kg of lean mass, while still being able to progressively overload. I can now do pull ups ffs! I have no more visceral fat, the rest is all subcutaneous. I reversed a fatty liver and turned back the hands of time by 7 years. My biological age was estimated 37 in the body composition analysis at the start of my journey, now is 30... I am 35.
But all this took me roughly 2 years. You need patience and it would be a mistake to want too much too quick.

I love your emphasis on consistency. At 6' tall my weight has fluctuated between the low 190lbs range all the way to 245lbs. It's not surprising I ballooned so quickly after I quit going to the gym when covid first happened. A six pack of beer every weekend and soda with fast food twice a day is not healthy at all. After just two weeks of cutting out the crap I've lost an inch off my waist. Thanks for doing what you do bro!

I've started to record my weight every week since I realized I had become a pig during lockdown. It's pretty good seeing the numbers decrease over time, even if you wish it'd be a little faster. Started at 103kg, currently at 99kg. 11kg more to go.
