I like having both portability and a desk setup, so I recently purchased the base M3 Pro MacBook Pro 14 and paired it with a 28" 4K Samsung monitor and magic keyboard. For me it's the best of all worlds.

I completely agree.

I have both iMac M1 16/512GB and MBA15 M2 16/512GB.

I love the big screen, speakers, the most simple setup of the iMac. It was my first Apple device.

Laptops aren't my favourite form factor. The screen gets more dirty faster than a desktop as it touches the keyboard and you are sitting closer. The posture isn't as great as when you are sitting on a chair with a bigger taller screen in front like with the iMac. But MBA15 portability, fanless design and battery are awesome, it's very convinient. Screen and speakers are really good but not iMac level.

When i need to get work done or study (I'm a software dev), the iMac is my prefer option due to screen real state. MBA for when in bed or in the sofa, as I already sit 8h a day for work. I also take it with me when spending a day or two at my parents" country house. Very convenient.

I could live just with the MBA15 tbh but I can't get rid of my iMac now, is the devkce i love the most of the two.

Given the size difference, I'm puzzled why the imac isn't more powerful than the pro. Why don't they have the same options of specs?

Where did you get your braided MacBook charging cable from? Do you recommend it? Mine just broke, and I’d love not to pay $80 for another standard charger 😅

I had a Macbook Pro 16". Aa a photographer, I don't require portability, and found I really didn't like it. I sold it and now love my iMac. Much larger display and no battery concerns now or in the future.

The iMac has a love/hate relationship with a lot of people.

Love: The display resolution & color accuracy, web camera AI, and the simplicity to setup.
Hate: The ports, the screen refresh rate, and replacing/repairing parts after 4 years of use. The ports are the worst part because they are so outdated and limiting.

Hi Marina - I’m trying to choose between the iMac M3 8 core/10 core 8G 512ssd and a MacBook Pro M3 12 core/18 core 18G 1Tb ssd
I use Ableton Live for Live Recording and music production
Thoughts? The iMac is $1700 the MacBook is $2400
It would be nice to save a bit of money on the iMac but only if it handle Ableton and music production

I have a MacBook Pro but thinking of swapping for an iMac. I own an m2 iPad Pro and find myself using it more for digital art and normal usage on the couch. While I use the MacBook to connect a wacom cintiq for digital art and editing photos. Which is why I was thinking of swapping since it’s 99% of the time connected to a 1080 display. Any advice?

Hi Marina. Thanks for the video. Do you know if the Imac is expandable? The Macbook isn't. So If I purchase an Imac today, it will get slower as time goes by. Can I then add more ram or replace the processor?? Thanks in advance.

I have compared my new MacBook Pro Display with my iMac and have discovered that the iMac displays greater contrast on the same image in photoshop. I thought I was going to get a new studio display with my MacBook Pro and get rid of my iMac but now wonder if this is a good idea. I need an excellent display for photo editing - can you tell me if the MacBook Pro drives the performance of the external display (a Studio)?

I have an m1 iMac and an m1 air and it’s enough for me. Although I am thinking of going all in on a nice 15 inch MBA instead and letting go of the iMac eventually 🤔
