This video is extremely helpful. I got a pre owned air as my first Mac earlier this year. Fell totally in love with it and upgraded to a new pro of the same size as I love the size. And I was trying to reason if I really “needed” to do that. This video helped me understand the idea that the same specs does not mean the same processing power.

If your still unsure, I think the pro is the one you should get if you are a student doing online, or doing long strands of work at a time, because that fan will kill you on the air. I got the pro and I do not regret it

The touch bar on the MacBook Pro is actually really damn convenient when you get used to it 🤷‍♀️Even if you get the base model i5 it will perform better than a specced out air, so don’t ever get an i7 on the air because if you care so much just go pro man

Good note with the Zoom conferencing! I think that's what most people will be using these things for anyway. No point in getting a laptop that can't even handle video conferencing. Base model MacBook Pro will do the job.
