We all know tooth/ teeth aches are fing horrible. So imagine having this everytime they 'tighten' the braces and put constant pressure on your teeth. It DOES hurt and your pain IS valid.

I've had a single wire fixed retainer for two years now and I've had no problems with it 😊 this video made me double check if it was for sure single wire though haha

I know how she feels, I spent 7 years with them and had to go back for round two after I lost my retainer. 😅 it took two years more years but I have a great smile that never went crooked.

My ortho gave me a few choices and gave me a couple of months to think about. Her choices were: old school retainer, clear retainer and fixed wire retainer. She said I can have one, or any other combination - she doesn't really care if I wanted to get all of them. After researching, I've decided to get clear retainers, 3 sets, because they all aren't cheap. I figured getting more retainers would cost more later. Fixed wire retainers can come off without you knowing and teeth goes back without you knowing. Old school retainer can alter speech and it's not good for my job. So glad I only got clear retainers.

“Braces aren’t that bad” mine gave me depression and severe orthodontist fear. It hurt so bad. I’d cry every appointment. My oral surgeon left a permanent laser scar on my lip. Love my regular dentist but I will never be able to have anything that invasive in my mouth ever again

If ur fixed retainer broke or the glue came off just go to ur dentist and fix it as soon as u can
The reason they may give u a fixed one is that u just simply can forget or refuse to wear the clear or old school one.
I personally had problems with wearing night time retainers, and my brases wire has been broken many times (a single one) so the twisted one was stronger, fixed and the better option for my teeth

I hate having a fixed retainers. The glue keeps on breaking off at least 5 times a year and I don't like having to drop 50 euros every single time to get it fixed. Zzz

I use a combo of fixed twisted retainers and and invisible ones I’m meant to wear at least once a week. The invisible retainer helps in keeping teeth where they should be

I had fixed retainers and it caused one of my teeth to move forward so it left my tooth slightly crooked compared to the others. They didn't seem to care and wanted me to have my retainer for longer than what was initially planned. It felt like a scam.

Had braces as a teen through school. It sucks but you have to stick with it. After I never wore the retainer they said to wear to bed. It was uncomfortable and it always ended up falling out
