The QD OLED Issue Nobody Talks About
Look, I love QD OLED, you love QD OLED, everyone loves QD OLED because let's be honest between the perfect per pixel local dimming, meaning you're getting excellent contrast, the likes of which LCD or mini-LED could never touch the insane response times that again, make any other technology look like an absolute joke.(...) And on top of that, the incredible HDR experience, thanks to not only the infinite contrast ratios, but also the incredible color that QD OLED has that even LG's WOLED can't quite live up to, well, there's no doubting that QD OLED, at least on paper, is the best technology we have today, depending on the software, the firmware, the hardware, et cetera, it could be the best and it often is. However, there's one major issue, okay, well, there's a couple of issues, one being, of course, the magenta tint in a bright room, that is a bit of an issue, but hey, I'll let that one slide because we are getting a glossy coating, which means far superior clarity when compared to the current matte coating that we get on the vast majority of LG OLED monitors today. Now, hopefully that'll change in the future as LG's TVs are glossy and they don't have any magenta tint, so I'd love to see them bring that to monitors,

I'm sorry to say this but cleaning your monitor with microfiber cloth is wrong, use microfiber silk lens clothes (the same one you would use to clean your glasses with)
and you will never have scatches, i've ben using my QD Oled for 2 years cleaned alot and not a single scratch.
i recommend using 2 of those clothes by the way 1 wet the other to dry it.

I remember a lot of people complaining that their cats scratched the heck out of their new QD OLED's when they first came out. Another danger.

YES! I noticed mine was very hard to clean compared to other monitors. You get used to it, but it is a bit of a pain.

I have a G9 QD-OLED model. I take care of it, I don't touch it and I have something like micro scratches /scratches on it.

With the GPT chat, I came to the conclusion that they may have been caused by eating in front of the monitor - you read that right. Fats / juices can react with the QD-OLED matrix. I have no other idea where they could have originated from. It is enough that you ate ordinary soup in front of the monitor and microdroplets fell on your monitor coating, no one cleans the monitor every day, it is done at most a few times a month.

I am totally disappointed / let down - the monitor is just 3 months old and I already have several such "scratches". The product was supposed to last for years, and it comes out that in 3 years it may no longer be usable.

In general, if I had known that QD-OLEDs are so fragile I would not have opted for it. I will say more, I also have an OLED TV and the quality of QD-OLED is a rapturous few percent advantage in terms of color. OLED colors continue to be beautiful and saturated.

In general, it's not worth getting wrapped up in this experimental technology.

My PG32UCDM looks identical to the day I pulled it out of the box.

Don’t touch the glass, don’t spit on it, and if you need to wipe anything off use a magic fiber cloth from Amazon with only your breath for moisture. Still spotless seven months later!

Taking care of a monitor in 2024 be tougher than taking care of a kid lmao

I had the MSI OLED, cleaned it once got scratched, sent it back got the Samsung 32 oled monitor has a Matt qd-oled but cleaned it few times now not a single mark, it’s a compromise on image clarity but getting a far better experience and longevity, then having a scratched screen after a few days.

Between this and the magenta tint, I could never daily drive a QD-OLED. I tried, but even in a dimly lit room it's just so bad compared to a matte WOLED.

You forgot the dominant blue light energy emitting through the panel, the low light quality (CRI) giving harsh and sterile cartoony colours, and of course the subpixel layout making text and finer details a mess. Also the motion still isn't up to plasma standards let alone CRT 🤭

Was about to purchase a monitor today, this took away all my enthusiasm lol

These OLEDs, for the prices they are charging, should have glass fronts

The ONE thing I hate about QD-OLED, and I know it’s an OCD thing, is that purple/pink screen it has. I feel like Matte coating makes it less notable to me tho
