Accountability at all levels of your funnel is key. Reminds me of your article about me management- if you don't manage these things for yourself - either someone else will - or you'll be scratching your head wondering why you didn't hit your goals.

If revenue drops and management is measuring all three categories of KPIs, there is objective reason for optimism. The right quantity and quality of activities will lead to the outcomes that will eventually turn around the sales numbers. Measuring and managing activity is an insurance policy for the lean times.
