Sky Q Hub Unboxing

A first look and unboxing of the all new Sky Q hub by Sky. This unboxing was completed by a Sky customer who has opted for the Sky Q service. I have been a sky customer for 16 years and cannot wait to use the new Sky Q service.

I am now using the Sky Q hub with my fibre package and is performing well :).

I did originally set mine up when it came but I was not getting a good signal downstairs as my router is in my bedroom, so I put my old hub back on as it works better, hopefully will get a better signal once my Q Silver box is installed as that will act as a hotspot. I live in hope.

I'm gonna get the Sky Q TV service later in the year. I'm waiting for the 4K channels to come and I'm waiting for a price drop. I'm still gonna get my internet from BT, though!

Just upgraded to Fibre unlimited and they offered me the sky hub 3.0 which I assume will be similar to this(?) but there wasn't a cat in hells chance of me buying it for 69.99 plus 6.95 delivery when I can get something with similar performance for 30 from my local PC world. Better just spend the ~£80 on a router that will actually do a decent job at everything.

Well. Had silver installed yesterday :-) beware it takes them a few hours to install! And I'm pretty sure it slows wifi down a bit, but it's brilliant, just need powerline support and all will be good.

I had it installed today after an 11 week wait for installation!! I have wanted it for years!! i was very happy with it until i tried to bookmark!!!

I thought i must have been doing something wrong!! Why the fu?? would they remove such an essential feature?!!!! i had concerts on my HD

box with 20 bookmarks! i could go to the song i want within 2 seconds!! Now it's the same as having a VCR!!!This is completely backward!!!

I don't know if i can live with this!! it's a mindblowingly dumb decision to remove it!! i'm fairly certain every sky box has had the ability!!! imagine
if DVDs or CDs had no bookmarks!!this is essentially what sky have done !!

i went for BT Infinity 2 instead of the slower sky fiber

Does it have to be plugged into the master socket. As our master socket is in our porch. We have then got a second socket off of this going to the sideboard where the current (BT) hub and landline phone are.

Your using it before your installation date? And it works fine? Should get mine in a few days and I was going to connect it up/setup before sky engineer comes ( easier for both of us )

i know i.m silly but does sky q replace my hd box as i am not sure what happens.do you have to have both boxes which would have me paying about £140 a month.many thanks.

My silver is being installed 29th Feb ( first install date ) and now I've got the hub all set up/working I have to wait a whole 6 days for the next instalment :-(

I'm baffled as to why they dont give this router to all sky broadband customers as all VDSL (Fiber) modems are Backwards compatible with the older ADSL2+ standard and in a lot of test VDSL modems actually can in some cases improve a standard ADSL2+ Connection & would mean smoother transition when customer decides they want fiber, this Q router is light years better than the older one for WiFi.

Kinda pissed this router only has 2 ethernet ports, old one had 4. Other then that it's a really good router though.

hello i have a sky q hub (upgraded to fibre) just came today and still waiting for the rest of my sky q silver package to arrive and get fitted how many days does it take to activate sky fibre once the sky hub has come because mine doesnt have a date on the box how many days is estimated until its activated?
