Special thanks to Gunaxin for organizing the first-ever #TrailTrekTour!

Compact SUV's are the new family sedans in America but choosing the best one for you is getting more challenging these days. In this video, we brought together 7 different entries and took them to an environment that no owner would probably go and even though you probably wouldn't, it's always nice to know which one of these is the most capable if you had to. Included in the comparison are the following:

2018 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring AWD
2018 Kia Sportage SX AWD
2018 Hyundai Kona SEL AWD
2018 Toyota Rav4 Adventure AWD
2019 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk 4WD
2018 Honda CR-V Touring AWD
2018 Volkswagen Tiguan SEL Premium AWD

I’m surprised that Subaru declined to offer their Forester for this comparison. It would’ve been one of the most capable off road.

This video was very helpful. I often drive on construction sites and need something that is able to handle these conditions and have basically been crossshopping all these cars. Thanks Sofyan!

Please continue to test vehicles in these conditions. It is very helpful for us in the Caribbean.

Lmao Hyundai basically screwed themselves in this comparison by using the Kona instead of the Tucson...

The jeep could literally Tony Hawk Pro Skater grind down the rocks and all it would need is the touch-up paint Mopar sells for the skid plates.
And a new transmission.

Eager to see your take on the 1.6T AWD version of the Kona. Thanks again for this great video!

I wish you have provided an aerial shot from the top so we could see the size (length and width) comparison of each car

So unfortunate that Subaru didn't participate. They would have had the best visibility because of the boxer/low hood. And of course they are the authority on awd.

You keep saying the people who own these vehicles will never be out in these conditions....me in my 2017 Tucson going deep into the mountains "are we a joke to you?"

@Redline_Reviews Off topic but have you got your hands on the new MX5 for review yet? Or was it only for Canadian youtubers first? Really want your opinion on it because you actually had a previous model. Smart move on moving away from the ND1 though because it's probably going to take a hit in the resell value.

Great video. Are you going to do this for the other sized segments of SUV's? I would love that.

Thanks for sharing, 2019 lineup should be fun to test.

Wait wait wait. Did you just say CVT is the best and fastest transmission? What universe is that CVT from? May I suggest talking about smoothness or anything but performance for the sake of credibility?

I had to laugh at the look on your face when you dragged bottom on the KIA. Ha!!!

Noticed you were driving the CRV in S for sport mode perhaps you could have gone to L for Low. Excellent vid as usual.

I would like to know what Subaru is thinking? Are they trying to lose customers? Are they getting to big for their britches? A Crosstrek or the newly designed Forester would be a good fit ! I have a 2018 Crosstrek so Im biased.
