What is Landscape Architecture? A Recent Grad's Perspective

In this video, I discuss what Landscape Architecture is and break it down into 2 different subjects. One being the large scale and belief systems of being a Landscape Architect and the other being the day to day life of a Landscape Architect. In addition to the basic concepts of Landscape Architecture I quickly shed some light on what to expect as a future designer and what the day to day life may look like for you. Through this I hope to educate others on the potentials of Landscape Architecture and answer any questions people may have about the field.

Thank you. for putting this out there. I got out of the army a few years ago, and after a couple years of travelling from place to place I've decided to go back to school to study Landscape Architecture at Clemson.

I am looking to take the information I learn in the Landscape Architecture program and integrate everything I already know from taking two Permaculture Design courses over the past year to create beautiful, functional spaces that also provide benefits in an ecological sense.

This video confirmed that pursuing a degree in LA is not a waste of time. In fact, it validated everything I felt about the field and what I would be studying.

Great first video! I have enjoyed the videos you have produced. When I started studying landscape architecture I was really excited to begin but had the concern that I might not be good at it, since I hadn't spent a lot of time drawing and didn't feel technology savvy. Since what initially drew me into landscape architecture was spending time outdoors and creating and maintaining landscapes. As I went through college I defiantly went through different periods of time where I questioned continuing, or asked myself if I should try something else in the landscape realm. Since, graduating May of 2022 I have been enjoying working at a firm and think what I learned in school has helped create a great foundation for my passion in landscape arch and provided me skills I never thought I would pursue.
