I disconnected my Roku TV from the Internet months ago, after they pulled the "accept the terms or buy a new TV" bit. It works fine as a computer monitor, and I stream off the computer.

The only problem I have had with Roku is how the remote works. But I only have problems with the TVL tvs that are already set up

Roku's insidious "non-opt out" policy is basically holding consumers who bought their products to ransom, and I will have nothing to do with companies who do that. So I basically told Roku to sod off. I will be replacing my television in my Belize house because of this.

Why would turning off “personalize ads” automatically mean they still don’t collect the same data? Is not “do not collect personal data”. It just means they won’t use it to select which ads you get. It doesn’t mean data isn’t collected any differently.

Thank you for making this video. Now I have a question to ask. I just set the Roku Express up yesterday & now it won’t let me go back to using my regular TV remote. Which will access my DVR. Do you know how I can do this? I even tried unplugging it & I still can’t access my on TV remote. It’s ridiculous.
