7 minute egg is my personal favorite but if you want them a little harder you could go for 8 or 9 minutes

This guy has definitely done some martial arts in his life. If you watch the fridge hits he actually has consistently good form lol

You can also add various spices. I used to have them when driving trucks in the 9ties.

Can you reuse the pickling liquid again or is it a use only once situation?

If you're worried😂 about shells, crack them one at a time in a separate bowl. If a piece of shell does get in the bowl use a part of the shell to take it out🤔 Enjoy 😂😮

You don't need that much soy sauce. You can replace half of the soy sauce with water.

You can alternatively use a paper towel to keep them submerged. We used to do that in a ramen restaurant I used to work at.

It's so funny, I literally just finished eating a pickled egg and lo and behold, here is you most excellent recipe. I love pickled eggs (and beets and jicama and...) and I can't wait to try these. I'm sure your soy pickled eggs are most definitely otherworldly! I start my eggs in cold water so they don't crack; I boil for 5 minutes, then turn off the heat and leave the eggs in the hot water for 10 minutes. run under cold water and either leave in cold water until cool ( which I what I do, or use the ice bath). They are just a bit more cooked, which, unless I'm eating them in ramen, I prefer. Then I save the juice from good quality pickled beets (I like Tazely) and I submerge the eggs for at least a day (or longer is better). The eggs are a lovely purple color and so delish!

I usually poke a little hole in the "pointed" side of the egg to make it easier to peel the egg, and I think a little baking soda in the boiling water helps too.
