I’ve made this more than a few times in an air fryer. I can say with absolute certainty that it comes out great. The problem lies with all the fat splatter that hits the heating element & coats the inside of the unit so heavily. This leads to heavy smoking during the cook & also during future uses.

Pork belly in air fryers (and ovens in general) make SO MUCH SMOKE. Open all your windows, run your fans and exhausts, maybe take the battery out your smoke alarm
