I'm a retired locomotive engineer and you want to know who's responsible for the increase in accidents? Regan's transportation secretary of transportation, Elizabeth Dole who let the transportation industry rewrite the rules and safety requirements across the all the different types of transportation.

Iol….it’s illegal to transport anything without knowing what it is. The train company knows exactly what’s on that train.

So is the company paying for the damages ... this isn't a act of god this is a mis handling of mechanical maintenance

And they will have health issues before they get done.

Where do they expect these families to go? I can’t even imagine if this happened in my home town and the way told me to evacuate or be arrested. Also, that man and his poor son were breathing in these toxic chemicals. What will happen years down the road to them? So sad

It's just amazing how so many wrecks, explosions, fires, & other catastrophes have happened all at the same time, to our supply lines, food plants, ranches, farms, & fuel sources! Isn't it?!

The fact no one knows what it is .... is mental

Although it may be inconvenient, and inefficient, railcars carrying hazardous materials should be separated to minimize catastrophic releases of the materials in the cases of accidents.

And to answer your question of when can we go back home if your government continues to proceed the way they're going it might be years before you can go home

I'm no investigation expert, but as far as I know, investigating mishaps of this magnitude takes months, the least, if not years. So coming up with a result in as short as a few days is quite concerning and can not be factual.

Hey, retired engineer, why did the train derail in the first place, was it going too fast, someone derail the train at a track switch.
Why have we not heard as to the actual cause (mechanical. W) no kidding. Was it a disgruntle employee, trains don't just derail for some mysterious reason?). After USA citizens spending a Trillion dollars into infrastructure we deserve. a real and detailed answers.

Well it only took Scott Wozniak at least a month to announce one of his videos being Delayed.

Funny they aren't connecting it to the 3.8 earthquake that just occurred right in that exact spot at the time of the derailment... such coincidences.

Lol they're letting it burn out use your brains peoples depending on what other chemicals and materials are on that train that the fire can burn for a long time

Is the railroad going to reimburse all the people for their troubles? If a train hits a car or truck and the train is stopped the train company charges the car or truck owner $1, 000 per hour per rail car. If the train has 100 cars thats $100, 000 per hour. Thats what Union Pacific charges.
