I live in East Palestine. I need to know how long I'm going to be told to stay away from my house because people can't stay away for too long.

Thats why i don't pull right up to the crossing guard anymore. Hopefully give me alittle buffer to do something like run or backup if nobody is behind me. Always be ready to do something just in case you get the chance to escape.

Many of these train cars have faulty axles, bearing and trucks, what can be done to monitor this problem?

Wouldnt hurt to give train workers some sick time with pay. Not saying it wasn't mechanical, just adds another level of danger.

NTSB Employees have a tough Job with ALL the Travel around the US. Terrible hours and Away from Home, a Lot. Thanks to the NTSB for your Valuable Work. 👍🙏

People need to go to jail for this. All the people who were effected need compensation. This should have never happened and the damage to the environment. Thanks democrats, you did a bang up job as usual. Complete failure. 18 to 24 month for an investigation is ridiculous. Taxpayer money hard at work with incompetent people as per usual.

Never quite Understand Why so Many Dumb Questions are asked at these News Conferences. 🤔 The NTSB got into town on Saturday. It will take Time. 🤪👎

First of all, these men have to be guarded, at this point, in what they say, because news reporters, who know little about rai9lroads, will mis-represent what is said.
Although Norfolk Southern has had a lot of derailments lately, Derailments like this is not always DIRECTLY the railroad's fault. The report said a fault detector caught the failure of an axel on a SINGLE car and emergency steps were taken to stop the train. A car can be CAREFULLY inspected in the morning and fail a few hours later due to problems that an inspector would never be able to find, like a failed bearing.
Many times, the track, which is inspected constantly will malfunction, often at a place where switch points are facing the approaching train, and other times due to cars or trucks being struck by the train.
The NTSB will not hide the truth, unlike other parts of the Federal Government. Eventually all will be known and it will most likely be due to an axel failure.
Many folks do not understand that trains can not stop quickly. The momentum of all the weight will keep the train moving, thus the pile up and destruction. This happened in the middle of a town. At least it didn't end up like the oil train wreck, in Canada, a few years ago. Maybe we should all count our blessings here.

What I’d like to know is, why is a town in the USA named Palestine??

The state of Ohio knows where the train details and the smoke filling the air, what do you mean it's going to take Six months to find out what it is.
