Sir you just saved my cal 2 grade. I have my test over sequences and series in a couple hours and by watching this I was finally able to comprehend what it meant to find the sum of a series via power series. +10 internet points for you!

Have a hw due tomorrow and had no idea what prof was talking about. Now I do. Thanks so much!

You should do more examples of these. Such as find the sum for (-1)^(n+1)/n using the power series ln(x).
Arkinoth
how do you do it if it was with factorials?
Digifan
i can't express my love for this guy... you have helped soo much
Mscutie
This video has really helped me a lot.

This is fine, but what about when you have n^2/something? you can't just multiply both sides by n/n...?

Great Video Patrick!!! :) I love the laugh at 3:13 XD

This came to my rescue when I was studying heap sort algorithms. Thank you!

Thanks once again patrick! Problem set due in 30 minutes and this was the only one I couldn't figure out!

Woah that was amazing man. Instant subscribe!

These problems are some of the most interesting yet frustrating.

Thank you so much, my professor didn't explain this at all.

Hi, it is really helpful, but how do you find 1/5 will fit the answer? well, also, why the right hand side in 2'20 to 2'29 can just put the x into the summation?

Wow i luv these kinds of smart problems (though the solution seems like coming from out of the blue:(...but i think the key is recognition n remember what uve learnt...thanks a lot:) u really got me into the multiplying the x before a series thing too.
TheBikhinkl
Wow! it all looks so simple once you know it!
amanshenoy
Don't integrate, integration is for all the continuous values 0 through 17, its not for the discrete values. You can apply the formula (n(n+1)(2n+1))/6, just put 17 for n and you'll get the answer.

Now thats a good and complete explanation! Not like these fuckers who just give you a stub and tell you to figure out the rest yourself! +20 internet points for you!

But how to get complete outcome, if I take x=10000 and n=12, what is the total sum. Because by this I am getting 0.0001000200030 as outcome or final answer.
