Yep had a lot of those. Also have had my favorite "You're too young to be with a cane, and be disabled. You should heal quick." or "So so and so has that too I know they handle their symptoms better, why can't you" or offer their friends treatment plan and tell me I don't know how to handle my condition. Trust me I have tried every treatment option, everyone with disabilities is different.

As someone with a disability I’m glad you made this video, thank you for raising awareness ❤❤

As someone who lived with a disabled person, these are very relatable.

It is nice that people care enough to say, “get better soon!”

But that is not how disability works. I’m not going to get better. 🤪

But I am okay with being disabled, and have adjusted to it.

As bad as being disabled might seem while we are able bodied, you’d be surprised by how well we as humans adapt to new situations.

Basically we are just people, who have disabilities.

It like if you have the flu, you are a person, who just happens to have the flu. It doesn’t define who you are, it just affects what you can do.

I've had people make insensitive comments about me all the time. I get the "you're too young to be disabled" all the time. (I'm 21 and have inflammatory arthritis. Disability doesn't discriminate, it can happen to anyone.) People think I need EVERYTHING done for me, but I can do a lot of things on my own.

"Were you born like that?" Yes, my mom also gave birth to a wheelchair.

There are 4 students at my school in a wheelchair, 1 had surgery fail, 2 born that way, 1 got hit by a car back in 2014

20 seconds in and people saying “disabled people can’t have disabilities” the fact that someone would even think that is a sad and funny to me

Pre disability I wouldn’t have thought people would be this dense but now I’m a full time wheelchair user I have had every single one of these comments! Also the “you’re too young to be disabled” (I’m 34 and still don’t know what age you are apparently allowed to be disabled!!) or the “you shouldn’t be parked in that space it’s for disabled people” even after I’ve showed them my blue badge (disabled parking badge) and am getting out of my car in a wheelchair. Again people assume only the elderly are disabled and should be parking there. Oh and when people assume you can’t be out on your own and need someone with you whole time. The amount of times I’ve been out alone and people have come up to me asking if I’ve lost my carer is disgusting. Just because I’m in a wheelchair, doesn’t mean I can’t cope on my own! I really hope people watch this and take notes if they do these things, it really wicks us off and some of us even play disabled bingo (a group I’m in even made physical cards!) because they happen so stupidly often

I hate the part where people try to feel bad for me as a wheelchair user with Spina Bifida and the highly specific questions like how do you go to the bathroom

"Don't let the wheelchair fool you." My response: EXACTLY! 🤣🤣🤣

Fr, it’s really annoying when my dad lives for a trip and takes my twin brothers handicap sticker with him for the beach because my brother has nonverbal autism so he has so because he likes to run in the middle of the road so that way he is less likely to get hit by cars

I'm just surprised that no one made a sarcastic remark, about the gentleman in the wheelchair, drinking alcohol. I have encountered this as well. Some people think that a person with a disability, should not drink alcohol, or even smoke cigarettes, for that matter. Like it only messes you up, if you have a disability.
