This is very wise of you. Because just as you said, young girls are very impressionable and vulnerable. But also, you deserve some amount of privacy. Just because you're on social media doesn't mean people can just ask you whatever and expect you to answer.

Thank you for being so kind, thoughtful, straightforward, and level headed about this topic. You are phenomenal role model for all ballerinas❤

Thank you. It is unfortunate that so many dancers hold trauma around their weight and bodies. I appreciate you making a conscious effort to not contribute to that. ❤

Love this so much. She's so aware of the fact that young girls can easily develop EDs

You look strong, healthy and fit. I love how you're teaching and being honest- also, that's between you and your doctor. No one else.

I love how you approached this subject. Thank you for promoting good health, not what the scale says.

Just when I thought you couldn't be any cooler... I was a baby ballerina with friends who had developed eating disorders by the time they were 11. Some didn't make it past their 20's. Thank you for being mindful.

Aaaand this is why we love Lori.
Just address the elephant in the room and draw a boundary line that you’d have to be blind to cross.
This is very appropriate and thoughtful and RESPONSIBLE.

I struggled for years, obsessing over numbers, even though the number didn’t really ever change. It just wasn’t what I wanted to see, and my body didn’t reflect what I wanted to see either. After more years of unlearning this, and slowly fighting to be liberated of this plague that gets girls and women, I stopped trying. And weight and fat shed from me when I found a sport I loved to do. I worked hard to improve and only found fun and passion. As I progressed, I reached goals I’d fought for years ago and never achieved. Eventually I even surpassed my goals and reached new heights. I would give a lot to have been this happy with my own body when I was younger, but I also would not have understood the struggle if I didn’t go through it. I can help others now, like you are doing.

Bless you for being vigilante for the young women in the community. We are told all our lives to look or behave a certain way, and trust me it doesn’t go away with age, but your resilience will grow over time. Remember: there will only ever be one “you” in the world - treasure yourself the way you’d treasure your dearest friend.

Very well done. I know this subject can be hard to address, especially in a ballet environment.
