I don't think I have said anything like this in the last ten years, but you might want to wait for a few months to buy a new TV. The TVs coming in for 2020 are legitimately more advanced than most of what we saw in 2019, plus there are several other worthwhile considerations. Hold on to your wallet and see why I think you should hold off on a TV purchase if you can.

Ive been told to "wait for next year's model" for so long that I'm still running a CRT from the 90s

Most of the comments missed the point.
What the video implies is: the generation gap between the 2019 and the 2020 TV's is the biggest of the decade, big enough that it's worth waiting a couple of months to buy your TV if you can.

I’m going to see this same title next year. Also I’m broke, that won’t be a problem.

All the 2019 LG OLED TV's already have HDMI 2.1
Wait for the 2020 models then snap up a 2019 model 👍

With tech, you can always wait for next years release and you'll end up buying nothing! Good way to save money.

I just got the C9 on December and I’m more than happy with it. I also think it’ll be perfect for the next gen consoles

No matter when you buy a TV, the new ones will almost always have newer better technology. It's the same way for computers. I bought a new Samsung Q90R 65" TV last summer and it was my first new TV in 11 years. I wanted to buy the 8K TV to future proof myself but a problem with financing from Samsung kept me from getting it. I bought the 4K from Amazon instead. I've learned recently that the 8K model was not a good purchase since side by side comparison of the 4K and 8K pictures at 65" is almost identical and that a larger set around 85" would be a better purchase for the 8K. I also had wanted to buy the 75" model 4K TV but since it was another $1500 at the time (Prime Day 2019), I could not afford it!

Also if you get a 2019 oled from LG will have most of these features and some really good deals right now.

I have not subscribed to TV for at least 10 years and I don't miss it! I find that reading is much more important.

LG 2019 models already have nearly all these features. Get a great deal on the OLEDx9 models when the 2020 models hit the stores!

The LG C9 has all of these features any way and you can buy it right now. 65” 4K HDR, HDMI 2.1, at just over $2k. Other than that, I agree to wait

The best deal this year is going to be the LG C9's from 2019 because they already have HDMI 2.1 built in so they will fully support all these features but they will be discounted even further to make room for the new models and competition from other manufacturers.

Bought a Panasonic GZ65(2019 model) on 2019’s Black Friday in replacement of my 8 years old Panasonic plasma, don’t regret it.

I went the other way buying a 65" 2018 TCL 6 Series for $499 for my exercise room. It also came with a 4 year warrantee through Costco's credit card. Completely satisfied!
