There's a reason I've had this original JV for 25 years...

It's been just about 25 years since I bought my 1982 Fender JV ST57-65 Strat from Parkway Music ( the original one near the pool hall ), and today I attempt to objectively review the guitar.

Glad to hear it has served you so well! I just picked up a JV Modified a month ago. I guess it's meant to be a modified version of this very guitar. Love it! Love Fender Japan. One question about replacing the bridge (bc I'm contemplating that as well) do Fender Japan guitars use the same replacement parts as USA/MIM?

That's a sweet Strat. Nice upgrades.

Yup, that one's definitely a keeper!

As previously mentioned, my first "real" guitar bought new in the shop was a 1989 Squier H.M. I Strat built in Korea, HSS with 2-point bridge, electric blue with the pointy headstock. Phenomenal neck! Still playing it some 35-ish years later.

What a fantastic guitar, and what a journey it's been on with you! As exciting as new gear can be, if you have that gear you stick with, practice with, learn with, play/gig with, over time that bond and the stories grow and it becomes something truly extra special in my opinion. This was a fantastic watch and lovely tones and playing as per! :)

My main guitar and favourite is an 85' MIJ 52 style Telecaster, in Natural/butterscoth blonde. Incredible guitar. I believe would have been the run just after the JV's.Have had It for about 10 years here in Australia which was brought over by an importer. Gigged to death and not one issue with it.

My first "real" guitar was a used 2005 MIM tele in midnight wine. Still have it! Got it kn 2014 for $250 off craigslist. The bridge pickup in this thing is the best bridge pickup I have ever used IMHO. hotter and thicker than every other tele i've played.

My first guitar was a cheap acoustic my brother gave me. About 6 months later, it was unplayable, it didn't have a truss rod. Trash canned that. Next up a new Teisco with 3 pickups and a whammy bar. A year later my brother brought a Mustang home from the music store he worked at, and gave lessons there. So, I had the Mustang and loved it. I, after high school, got Strats, Teles, etc. It was the 80's before I owned anything that didn't have vintage specs. I've played for over 54 years out of my 64 years. I wish I still had my first, second, or third guitar. But I don't. I've owned over 2, 000 guitars so far, so things come and go, but there are some I own now that I will not part with.

I loved hearing the story of this guitar. Great playing, too.

First guitar was an Ovation Viper. I chipped the neck, sold it, and pretty much lost interest. Bought an Epiphone Alley Kat maybe 5 years later. It was fun, but I again lost interest and sold it. Won a contest for a Simon Neil signature Squire Strat. Fwd to Covid, extra money and boredom got me back into music. Bought an American Pro 2 Deluxe Tele. Wasn't my thing, so I sold it and picked up a '21 MIJ Jazzmaster. Still have it, upgraded with Mastery bridge and vibrato, Lollars. My favorite and I don't see myself selling it. You know the rest. Squire Bass VI w/ Novak 1961s, CIJ late 90s red double bound Telecaster no mods and a great neck, and I'm building a strat. I'll probably get something with humbuckers at some point, and maybe a Mustang bass at some point. No hurry. Enjoying what I have and learning to work on them as well.
