How to Replace Steering Rack & Pinion 2009-2014 Nissan Maxima

This video shows you how to install a new TRQ power steering rack and pinion assembly on your 2009-2014 Nissan Maxima. The rack and pinion assembly transforms the turning motion of your steering wheel to the push and pull motions that turn the front wheels of your vehicle, as well as adding the power assistance. If the steering rack on your vehicle is leaking, or damaged in some way, you might need to replace it entirely.

This repair was done on a 2010 Nissan Maxima S 3.5L Sedan 4-Door FWD Automatic and the process should be similar on the following vehicles:
2009 Nissan Maxima
2010 Nissan Maxima
2011 Nissan Maxima
2012 Nissan Maxima
2013 Nissan Maxima
2014 Nissan Maxima

Tools you will need:
• 21mm wrench
• 22mm Wrench
• 18mm Socket
• 19mm Socket
• 21mm Socket
• Pliers
• A Piece of Pipe (for leverage)
• Swivel
• Cotter Pin
• Power Steering Fluid
• Safety Glasses
• Wire Ties
• Hammer
• Wheel Chocks

I found it easier to leave the high pressure line on, take out the rack then take off the line, and put the line on the new rack before installing, its a tighter fit putting it back yet its possible. Saves stress

I know I’m capable of doing the job but I’m hoping that somebody says yes the video is 28 minutes long and that’s how long it took us, ,, which we all know is probably triple that, ,, also I want your torque wrench

For anyone who's looking to remove the high pressure solenoid you have to use a punch at the base of the sensor.dont try to spin it any other way
