*proceeds to say it’s also banned in the Geneva convention*

Getting stabbed with one of those Daggers is like getting stabbed with a sharp drill bit

As a surgeon, I can say for sure, that there is no such thing as “wound that impossible to stich up”. If guy gets stabbed in significant blood vessel-it doesn’t matter it was a screwdriver or a fancy knife

The spiraling knives are illegal because they have no utilitarian use besides fighting. You would never CHOOSE those to cut rope or open a letter

They’re illegal to carry because if anyone catches you with them they have every right to laugh at you and you’re not allowed to cry about it

In Canada, we're not even allowed to look at pictures of those knives

As a paramedic and a son in law of a trauma surgeon I can tell you theres not many things that are "impossible to stitch up" it's more a time thing and being able to control that blood loss. Cauterization, vasoconstrictors, beta blockers, O2, and constant blood transfusions can fix about any knife stab wounds regardless of the blade but as I said before that depends if you make it to a truama center in time.

The fun part is that you could still go to the Outdoor/ Hardware store, and buy them there.

Ok, I need to set something straight. I'm a paramedic. I've treated knife, gun, and many other puncture wounds. The fancy spiral knives do make a nastier wound, yes. But even multiple puncture wounds are relatively easy to pack full of hemostatic agent. Throw that in there, and let the clots form. Then it's just stitch up with only a few stitches. More difficult to treat are multiple slash wounds, which have the potential to cause more blood loss faster and are difficult to pack. Pressure is the trick for slashing wounds. By making a knife spiraled, you make it harder to slash with.
