“Can’t destroy” is a strong choice of words my friend.

Military specs doesn't always mean the level of quality that you think it means.

Somehow these knives would still be wrecked if you lend em to your co workers 😂

Made to military specs always means we used the cheapest materials we could find.

Give any of those knives to a firefighter and they'd be destroyed in 20 minutes or less. Those guys could break a bowling ball in a sandbox.

I'm a fan of all these knives. I went through a manic knife binge phase about a decade ago. I went outdoors, into the woods, and all around using them and in the end I found that I didn't need a 1/4" thick knife, and I didn't find a use for the BK3, 18.6 oz. The LMF II at 11.7 oz is about as heavy a knife as I could use, but even then their Ultimate Outdoors Survival Knife, 11 oz, is good enough. The "have a knife" mantra reminds me of the "have a gun" mantra: it's got to be light and carry-able enough that you actually Have A Knife when you Need it on your person and quickly deployed. I know, I should make my own darn video if I "know" so much but I have come to appreciate the Glock knife at half the weight, 7 oz and a 6.5" blade and a standard Mora knife. Cold Steel Master Hunter 6.4 oz, Buck Vanguard 6.3 oz, even the Cold Steel SRK 7.4 oz, and dozens of lesser known lighter full tang options that lead to: Have a Knife! PS One of my favorite "too big to conceal" knives is the Buck 650 at 10 oz.

'made to saw through aircraft fusselage' had me doing a double take while I loudly said 'TO DO WHAT'

The LMF II isn't made for batoning, I was shocked to see that blade break in half, beating on the spine with a log, and or lovetaps from a hammer. I can't complain Gerber took care of me with a brand new replacement, once I sent my broken one to them.

I used the Gerber LMF2 my whole marine corps enlistment and still use it to this day... that knife has lasted and been used and abused for over 13 years and it's still a main part of my kit... I personally suggest everyone get this knife if they want something extremely durable and long lasting.

I can attest to the crazy durability of the ESEE 5. I've abused the hell out of mine for almost 10 years. Still in great shape (a bit of the finish has worn off). The kydex sheath with sliding retention lock is amazing and locks the blade in with zero movement.

I'm not into the really serious side of bushcraft. I'm more like average Joe backpacker. But I bought a companion from mora knife like 7 years ago. I've used it heavily, and in the last 3 years I've really really used it heavily to process my kindling for the wood stove. This knife was well worth the $15 I paid for it!

I love my Esee 5, no frills or gimmicks, just a solid survival knife that I have yet to see get damaged

Perfect! While sawing through aircraft fuselages I have wished I had a knife that could make it easier!

The 1st gen glock boot knives are impressively rugged as well

You forgot the best of them all the Ka-Bar. I’ve had mine for 35 years and it is still as tough as ever. I’ve hammered it in to a tree trunk and done pull ups on it. It is virtually indestructible.
