Since no one's giving an argument, here's mine. I remember Paul saying something about preforming signs and wonders as long as God allows it, and later in the Bible he leaves a sick man without healing him(Not healing him is very uncharacteristic of Paul if he can still do signs and wonders). These two details together imply that the whole signs and wonders thing isn't the focus anymore, and shouldn't be expected.

I forgot the specific books and verses... But If anyone can tell which ones I'm talking about, I'd appreciate you saying which ones they were.



Oh and this doesn't even go into the whole rant about dispensations, with the book of ACTS being the transition period.

I did not see the anger. Anger manifests through strong voice, insults, physical violence, biological phenomenon like blushing, etc... This guy guy only puts christian in front of their belief. You call that anger to diminish him but you are just assuming something that is convenient for your BS narrative. Calling somebody's bluff and BS is not anger. It is just calling their BS.

Well, at least you are perceptive enough to acknowledge that at least some of that “anger” was actually directed at his opponents. One wonders if the “at God” is even necessary, at this point, to account for it.

What I saw was James and Jeff acting like they could dictate the truth by force of their personalities and all but ordering their opposition to submit without providing reason why they should.

I would actually argue that much of that “anger” was actually poorly delivered theatrics. Other than that, Van Till presuppositionalism comes off (to those of us who don’t accept it) as a cheap method to appear as if you are giving reason without actually providing anything substantial. It is perceived as psychological manipulation and cheating, which does anger some people. After that, if you accuse an atheist of being “angry at God”, you’ve got every reason to expect that, if they aren’t already mad, they are now. To top it off, they refused at many points to even acknowledge their opponents arguments, hoping, I presume, that they wouldn’t be noticed by others if they just kept quiet on it.

It was all one long ad hominem, in which Jeff and James assumed the others’ motives and beliefs and, surreptitiously, denied them the reasons right to debate.
