Just because a person is an atheist doesn't mean he doesn't have morals or the ability to argue between what's right and what's wrong. People want to say that it's because of the bible that humanity knows right from wrong and that's simply not true. I'm not a murderer, rapist, liar or thief because I care about treating others with kindness and receiving kindness in return.

Stealing is taking something that doesn't belong to you and treating it as if it is your property in contradiction to the facts of reality. It is irrational. It represents the initiation of force. It is a violation of individual rights. That's why it's wrong, not because an imaginary god said "don't steal".

Selfish is the state of the world. Love your neighbor and your enemies. Would he change his mind if people saw him get hurt and no one cared to help cuz it didn't happen to them ? Sadly someone would come steal his wallet while he lay dying and just say times are tough and run off. Absolutely heartbreaking state of the world.

I disagree with glasses guy, I would prefer a society that would call the cops no matter if the car is theirs or not so that mean I take actions to create that society. However, I think I understand what he was saying: if it was MY car I would do more to protect it, like physically confront the thief, but if it was someone else's car I wouldn't put myself in physical danger by confronting the thief and instead settle for calling the cops. So I would care more the more it effects me and those I care about.
Also, stealing is not objectively wrong. Stealing the weapon of a school shooter is morally correct. Even God was ok with stealing the land from the Canaanites.
