Excellence by simplicity. No need of 15 minutes video, surgeon explaining the anatomy and what happens. Just necessary corrections and reasons for under 2 minutes. Thank You!

This is an excellent video. I have been treated by Dr. Ray and his advice, using these techniques, has worked in eliminating my bunion pain and straightening my big toes. Thank you!

Being a climbing and needing to fit it to pretty small/tight shoes I've been dealing with pain from a bunion in my left big toe pretty much since I started climbing. I got shoes that were a bit bigger to make room but am going to give these exercises a try. Any other climbers dealing with similar pain report back here in 6 months or so and I'll let you know how I'm doing.

Edit: I've tried these exercises regularly for a while but i think what i realized is there is no way to "fix" a bunion without surgery- as a bunion is a dislocation of the joints or permanent damage in my case. It could be arthritic which is what i believe mine is (arthritis runs in my family) but what does work well for me is I have been using silicone gel inserts for in between your toes.

So my recommendations as a climber suffering from bunions, as i spent the past year+ trying to remedy mine, Get some gel inserts and/or toe spacers that are comfy, I wear a big toe spacer when i climb. Don't leave climbing shoes on when you aren't climbing. I try to keep mine on only when im climbing. Get barefoot wide shoes and only wear these, no more tight running shoes. Get socks with toes so your socks dont squeeze your foot . Work on stretching the foot and spreading your toes. Hopefully this will help prevent ever needing surgery in the future and make my bunion tolerable.

Thank you for sharing. This means much to people who suffer and don't even have a clue why or what. Personally my feet always hurt and fatigue was what i thought. With little Google help turns out all my life wore wrong size shoes and my toes all have their own places to go but straight. Thanks for video

I never thought about a trigger point. But now that I do, tonight I begin attacking the problem and getting back on my feet, no pun intended. Many thanks, glad your video was available.

I used the pool pass bracelet from an apartment complex for the band to hook around the big toes. Cheap & effective!

I ordered Correct Toes several months ago & have found them to be the best device to wear daily. Will also try these exercises! Thanks!

A fundamental improvement to the most important stretch (0:33 (also affects 1:25)): In order to stretch the adductor hallucis effectively you cannot just bend the big toe outward, you need, with the target foot inverted and resting on the thigh of the opposite leg, to simultaneously hold on to the the other side of the transverse head (by third-fourth-fifth metatarsophalangeal joint)(using your other hand, preferably wearing a dishwashing glove so that you get a good grip). If you don't then the muscle will largely just be pulled along.

Im so relieved i have found this. Im in severe pain
I have bunions for years
I broke my second toe and it ended up as a bendy fracture
Which after a few years pushed the toe towards the other toes which made my bunions very painful
I have hope
Thank you

"increase alignment" By how much after how long? Would be great to cite scientific studies or at least provide video/photo/x-ray of somebody claiming to have done such exercises before/after.
