Chef of 22yrs here in the Midwest. You are correct, flat leaf parsley is synonymous with Italian parsley, not sure what region took issue with that. The curly stuff is just plain parsley.

Made your salmon cream dish for my mums birthday. Added chopped chestnuts and put some tenderstem broccoli on the side, was amazing. Reduced the sauce, tasted unbelievably good. Thanks for the recipe!!
