Deck Post Cracks❗, should you worry about them❓

I'm often asked about Deck Post cracks from homeowners.

this video goes over a basic understanding of the issues most homeowners are facing. however keep in mind I nor My Company is structural Engineers and this is not advice.

if you feel your safety is at risk because of a crack in a support post , you should contact a professional immediately, this video is not safety advice.

' Checking' of wood post or vertical cracks in wood post are common and 99.5% of the time non concerns.

if you have a crack wider than 1 inch or that a long screw driver can go completely through it needs further examination. or if there is a supporting horizontal crack that may weaken the post .
