Her crying at the end shows that her abuse comes from brokenness and instability. It's honestly scarily accurate to a lot of real life abuse.

A reason I think they nailed this is because Isaac, even though he's heavily abused and hates his mother, still clings to her. She's all he has, even if she's horrible - any ounce of good left in that monster is all he gets. That's horrible. I really pray for children in situations like these.

Look at how focused isaac is on his drawing at the beginning. He looks so happy. Adorable.

This ending just broke my heart. Isaac sounds so innocent and young, and his mother is just so cruel. I teared up watching this.

On one side this is disturbing.
But on the other I'm very happy to see how this is a step up from the past cutscenes.

This really is deeper than some people know. Issac (from his drawings) thinks a lot about his father, his mother doesn't, being called "just like his father" destroys his views of his father and makes him think bad about him sub-consiously. also the poor kid is having a panic attack at 5 years old, he really grew up in an abusive household

Sheesh. This is the first time seeing this ending. I never thought we'd actually get a voiceover of Issac. Damn, that was intense.
