I wish that they had kept in the apology it would have been such a good moment

Deep down Dudly wasn't a bad kid. He was just heavily influenced by his parents. As he got older he began to accept Harry as his cousin and respected him because he saved his life. Cudos to Dudly

This is definitely the scene I would have preferred but I think that the scene we got made it easier to part with the dursleys in the movies

I like that deleted scene so much that I think it should've been in the movie - I like it showing Dudley and Harry actually getting along with each other.

This scene would have made me cry. I almost cried when Dudley said that in the book because Dudley bullied Harry his whole life only to say, "I love you cuz. You never deserved what we did to you" when they were leaving and seeing each other for possibly the last time.😭 So wholesome!

Big D was so underrated and it’s sad. We all know the love he had for Harry.

Both Dudley and Petunia's scenes were really rather good

it’ll never be easy for me to watch the scene where the dursleys go. despite how mean they were, everybody was part of the story and had an important role. trust me if the dursleys died i would be crying my eyes out.

Why is it deleted it is still good it's just like when Draco throws his wand to Harry that's also a deleted scene I mean I love it

And didn't they take out a fantastic scene with Petunia where she finally does make it clear that despite her jealousy of her sister she did love her and miss her (she's standing in the empty living room and tells Harry it wasn't just his Mother that was lost that night, she'd lost her sister, she's a fantastic actress that was underutilised in the role until then). They basically left any indication of the Dursley's growth on the cutting room floor.

There is another one with the Aunt, about how stating Lilly was her sister. I can't remember it word for word but it was like "she was your mother, but she was also my sister" or something. Basically her telling Harry in a round about way she never did not loved her. Even if she was jealous

OMG THAT IS PROBABLY THE MOST WHOLESOME SCENE

I love how he says I don’t think you’re a big waste of space that’s so cute and sweet

From how I see this scene, over the years Dudley was spoilt and under the influence of his parents (kinda like Draco). He was never bad but manipulated into thinking Harry was worthless. But this scene that was cut out it was Dudley’s way of saying ‘I love and care about you’ and ‘I am sorry’. It makes me so sad that they did not have a better childhood together! Like you can tell Dudley was always putting on an act for everyone but when he opens up in his own way you can see how kind and caring he actually is….

They actually might become good friends in the book if they hadn’t deleted that scene 😢 that would have been so great 😢😢😢😢

How stupid to leave this out of the movie since Harry had protected Dudley from the dementors we never really saw or heard much from Dudley I think in that time he realised actually Harry was pretty badass hence the respect for him at the end it would have been nice that Harry would have had one blood relative who he was fond of
