Yes you should try to get a small metal brush wheel for your regular drilling machine or buy a dremel.
you also need to use clear paint so rust does not come back.
Use spray paint to mask the label with tape. use blue paper tape and not white since thin paint goes through

They had a lot of different unique computers in UK back then.

ceramic disc capacitor they are usually used in noncritical applications for bypassing, coupling, and blocking. Another disadvantage is that voltage transients can damage them. It is therefore not recommended to use as bypass capacitors directly across a low-impedance power supply.

Use polyester or polypropylene if they are not too large in size

Hi Chris.
It's great to see you've managed to save some machines.
2 remarks :
- The 1st A3000 you showed has the serial upgrade fitted (2 sockets near the PSU are populated with the 2 necessary chips)
- I think it's a pity you re installed an original OPA, when the Burr Brown gives much better sound ( with the filter mod off ).
if the Burr Brown was faulty, order a new one, this mod is really worth doing, for less than GBP5 ( and this motherboard has a socket installed already )

For the small dual bare PCB, check your emails, I think I told you what it was for, but can't remember at the moment.
It is about fitting an external keyboard in a BBCA3000, I believe.

I'd love an Acorn Archimedes. Never had one but looked at Zarch with a certain level of envy whilst I played Virus on my Amiga.

I always love your videos and 99% of the time when I pickup something new, I check and you've already made a video on it and very helpful to get mine working. I've recently picked up a FM Towns II in case you're looking for ideas on a next video :) lol

Never played one of these. Very interesting video and glad you got some new useful tools to make things easier. Mate you got alot of tools and items. I gotta ask you, do you know where everything is? Do you ever lose things? You know what im like, id always be misplacing things. You must have a seriously organised system in place. Great work with the video. Really appreciate all your hard work in making these great videos. Always amazing watching you fixing and restoring, i always learn something new.

lol I was thinking dremel as you said it, a grinding wheel or steel brush attachment would make light work of that, though I appreciate it's a noisy contraption and if like me you're in close proximity to the Mrs, I have to pick and choose my moments to use my de-solder station because it's loud lol

Peak Atlas instruments are nice and although I have better instruments I very often just reach out for one of the Peaks.

Those mice are rough looking - reading up, I guess it takes an adapter to use anything else more modern.

Hi Chris
Great Video as usual.
The capacitor type you don't see much of now but it is a ceramic plate capacitor, if the capacitor was C81 and the old one you took out was reading approx 2nF from the service manual C81 is a 2n2 30V ceramic plate, similar to these.
